B.E.S.T. Robotics provides an excellent platform for teaching the engineering design process and demonstrating how engineers from different disciplines must work together to design complex systems. Our annual participation in the B.E.S.T. Robotics Competition provides students with an intensive six-week "design-to-market" experience in which the students must

- design and build a radio-controlled robot using very basic materials,
- compile a Project Notebook documenting the engineering design process,
- prepare an oral sales presentation highlighting the merits of their design and
- design and build a 8' x 8' display booth to communicate various aspects of the project.
